Easter day scenes from across Georgetown
(Kaieteur News) – Families on Monday took full advantage of the bright, favourable weather conditions to celebrate Easter at the usual popular spots in the city.
Some gathered in the Botanical Gardens, while others lined Vlissengen Road, from the Kitty roundabout westward to the Seawall Bandstand, extending even further to the area behind the Marriott Hotel in Kingston.
The National Park also lit up for family picnics and kite flying. A heart-warming recurring scene was that of very young children being helped by their parents to send their kites up. Vendors were out in full force, adding to the festive atmosphere, while music filled the air from all directions, creating a lively and unmistakable Guyanese Easter.
