(Kaieteur News) – A 23-year-old gold miner identified as Joshua Hunter of Squatting Area, Helena #1 Village, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, has been granted bail in the sum of $50,000 for the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
According to a statement from police, the young man was arrested on March 8, at the Mahaica Market Area, East Coast Demerara, after he was found in possession of 52 grams of cannabis.
On March 10, he appeared at the Mahaicony Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate A. Wilson, where the charge was read to him. Bail was granted to the tune of $50,000 subsequent to a not guilty plea, and the matter was adjourned to March 31, 2026.
