(Kaieteur News) – The Lead to Influence Leadership Foundation has officially launched the ILEAD Student Leadership Programme at MC’s Educational Institute, Mackenzie, Linden. The programme, developed by internationally recognised leadership expert John C. Maxwell, is aimed at strengthening leadership capacity among students through structured, values-based training.
The initiative is being implemented through a strategic partnership between Dr. Shanti Persaud, Founder of the Lead to Influence Leadership Foundation, and Mr. Kevin De Jonge, Founder of MC’s Educational Institute. Under the collaboration, the programme will be delivered to students from Grade Seven to Grade Ten, with a focus on leadership skills, character development, and responsible decision-making.

Dr. Shanti Persaud, Founder of the Lead to Influence Leadership Foundation, and Mr. Kevin De Jonge, Founder of MC’s Educational Institute along with students of MC’s Educational Institute, Mackenzie, Linden.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Persaud underscored the importance of investing in young people, explaining that the ILEAD programme is designed to build students’ confidence, communication skills, and sense of responsibility, enabling them to contribute positively within their schools and communities.
Headmaster De Jonge welcomed the partnership, noting that the programme complements the school’s commitment to holistic education and preparing students for future leadership roles. He said the initiative supports the development of well-rounded learners equipped to take on greater responsibility both inside and outside the classroom.
Participants will engage in interactive sessions, guided discussions, and practical activities intended to strengthen teamwork, integrity, and personal growth.
The launch represents another step in the Lead to Influence Leadership Foundation’s wider mission to expand leadership education and transformation initiatives across schools and communities throughout Guyana.
