Kaieteur Sports – Play in the annual Hamilton Green Cup nine-a-side Inter-Ward Football competition continues this evening at the Plaisance Ground on the East Coast of Demerara.
Tonight’s action follows eight pulsating encounters on opening night last Sunday, with West Side Alliance, Beavers, Zeelugt, No.1 All Stars, Plaisance, Victoria and Buxton Stars all advancing to the second round of the straight knockout tournament.
Organisers did announce that matches originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, had been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances and will now be played tonight at the same venue.
Friday fixtures will see Black Pearl open against Espanyol at 6:00pm. That will be followed by Pouderoyen facing Young Warriors at 6:30pm, Liliendaal play UG from 7:00pm, Mahaica tackle Wash Bay Boys at 7:30pm.
That contest will be followed by Mocha versus Soesdyke at 8:00pm, Ann’s Grove then challenge Pouderoyen ‘B’ from 8:30pm, Beterverwagting battle Team Order & Discipline at 9:00pm and the nightcap pits Malanie against Harmonie at 9:30pm.
