Taxi driver fined $150K for DUI

(Kaieteur News) – Ameer Husain, a taxi driver of Covent Garden, East Bank Demerara, was charged on Tuesday with the offence of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
He appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court before His Worship Dylon Bess, where the charge was read to him, and he pleaded guilty. He was fined $150,000 GYD or, in default, three months’ imprisonment.
