(Kaieteur News) – Police in Regional Division 4 ‘A’ are investigating an armed attack on a 45-year-old mechanic at his Durban Street residence on Saturday night.
According to a police press release initial reports are that, the victim was in his yard, where he also runs a mechanic workshop, when two men on a red-and-black KTM motorcycle arrived. One reportedly dismounted, brandished a handgun, and attempted to snatch a chain.
A scuffle followed, during which several rounds were fired toward the victim. The mechanic managed to retreat indoors, where a friend armed with a knife intervened, reportedly injuring one of the suspects before they fled on the motorcycle. No injuries were reported among the victims. Police recovered two suspected 9mm spent shells and one projectile at the scene. CCTV footage is under review, and efforts to locate the suspects are ongoing, police stated.
