Kaieteur Sports – Georgetown surged to an easy 8-wicket win and this year’s title after a dominant run in the recently concluded DCB Inter-Association U-15 50-Over tournament.
After losing the toss and being sent into bat, the Select XI crumbled for a measly 66 in 28.5 overs. Resistance came from the pair of top-scorers in Noel Madramootoo (10) and Savir Narine (9*not out), as the remainder of the team failed to get out the blocks.
Georgetown bowling was led by Mario Singh who snared 4-12 with in-form spinner Afraz Khan bagging impressive figures of 3-19.
GCA then romped to 67-2 in a mere 5.3 overs after opener Lomar Seecharran and middle-order batsman Makai Dowlin hit 24 apiece to help steer their team to the title.
For their efforts, West Demerara Cricket Association (WDCA) finished as runners-up.

Georgetown’s Seecharran ended as the leading run- scorer with 264 runs including a century and a half-century.
Most wickets went to Shane Dewa who bagged wickets 15 including a match best of 5-22.
For his all-round performances, Ishan Harricharran was adjudicated the tournament’s MVP with 84 runs and 8 wickets including best of 3-6. (Clifton Ross)
