Kaieteur Sports – In an atmosphere charged with excitement and anticipation, Shemar Britton delivered an exceptional performance to capture the 1st Place Prize at the 2026 MEYTS Youth Organisation Handicap Open Singles Table Tennis Tournament, hosted at the National Gymnasium. Organised by Owan Wills.
The event drew players from across the East Bank, East Coast, Georgetown and neighboring districts, all competing with determination and sportsmanship in one of the organisation’s most successful tournaments to date.
Britton, known for his disciplined approach and tactical precision, defeated Niran Bissu in an intense 3–1 final played on Table 3. Bissu, competing from a +4 handicap, fought valiantly throughout the match. After losing the first game 6–11, he responded strongly to claim the second 12–10, putting the crowd on edge and setting the stage for a dramatic finish.
