Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab announced Tuesday the appointment of three officials to investigate the “dozens” of deaths resulting from the US attack on the country, which led to the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.
“We, as the Public Prosecutor’s Office, have appointed three prosecutors to investigate the dozens of innocent civilian and military casualties that occurred during this war crime, this unprecedented aggression against the Venezuelan homeland,” Saab said at an event notifying the Attorney General’s Office, the Comptroller General’s Office, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the start of a new five-year term for Parliament. To date, the Venezuelan government has not specified the number of dead or wounded during the attacks. (CNN)
