32 contractors vie to rebuild Timehri Fire Station for $262M

(Kaieteur News) – The Ministry of Home Affairs is gearing to spend approximately $262 million for the reconstruction of the Timehri Fire Station, East Bank Demerara.

Kaieteur News understands that a total of 32 contractors have submitted bids recently to the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board office to execute the works. Among the bidders 14 bid below the engineer’s estimate of $264 million and 16 bid above the figure, while the tender page was not seen for two bidders.

It was reported in the media that Home Affairs Ministry is building and has built new and rehabilitate fire stations across the country to improve emergency response and adequately boost firefighting operations.
