Kaieteur Sports – Barbados outplayed Guyana in a low-scoring match yesterday at Lusignan, snapping the home team’s streak to help keep the series alive with a crucial Game 4 shifting to Everest Ground today.
Chasing an easy target for their first win of the series, Barbados reached 112 with two overs left and 3 wickets remaining to break their losing streak.
It took a collective effort from Oliver King (10), Avery Boyce (17), Kayden Wilkins (10) Ky-mani Inniss (22*) and Natarie Lavine (17) to see the Bajans to victory, despite a fightback from the Guyanese bowlers.
Guyana earlier were kept under wraps for the most part, with Afraz Khan battling for his 96-ball 39 which featured just two fours to help his team grind for their 111-8 in 40 overs.
Middle-order batsman Daniel Johnson scored a useful 25 also with two fours, as the remainder of the Guyana team came up short with the bat, which left the home team reeling at 105-7 in the 39th over.

Man-of-the-match Ky-mani Inniss grabbed his award from GCB executive Shaun Massiah after leading Barbados to a strong win.
Left-arm medium-pacer Jahiem Springer (2-10) was excellent while all-rounder Ky-mani Inniss (2-22) coupled with a wicket each from two of their teammates, was by far the Bajans best outing with the ball all series.
However, Barbados too had a shaky start to the chase, clawing their way to 52 with four of their batters dismissed.
Inniss kept his cool despite wickets falling around him as he ended with a pair of fours which inevitably steadied the ship to see his team home.
A mixed effort with the ball from Guyana alongside 22 extras played a role in their downfall; despite wickets from Jaden Ganpat (2-12), Khan (1-21) and Fayyad Baskh (1-12) and Brandon Grimmond (1-10).
Game 4 continues today. (Clifton Ross)
