Kaieteur Sports – Two cricket associations in Berbice, under the auspices of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB), will be holding their long-awaited Annual General Meetings (AGM) and elections of Office bearers this weekend.
The two bodies are the West Berbice Cricket Association (WBCA) and the Berbice River Cricket Association (BRCA).
These AGMs and elections of office bearers were due a few years ago, but were postponed due to various reasons.
The WBCA answers directly to the BCB and is responsible for cricket on both the West Coast and West Bank of Berbice. It has a number of clubs that are under its responsibility.
The BRCA also answers directly to the BCB. It has responsibility for cricket up to a certain point along the Berbice River and several clubs also come under its responsibility.
The BRCA AGM will be held on Friday, September 26, at the BCB Office in New Amsterdam from 10:00hrs.
The WBCA AGM will be held on Sunday, September 28, at the Fort Wellington Secondary School at 11:00 hrs. (Samuel Whyte)
