Kaieteur Sports – New Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport Steven Jacobs continued his meetings with the various local sports bodies, this time engaging with executives of the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA).

The Minister recently kicked off his new role as he held discussions with executives and members of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF), Guyana Golf Association (GGA), the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), now adding GBA to the list.
Via this Facebook page, the former national cricketer turned Minister outlined that talks with the GBA body had been fruitful; as plans to further boost Badminton among the other sports being a key aspect of the Minister’s direction towards continued development.
Moreso, with President Irfaan Ali’s recent new policy which earmarked Friday afternoons as Physical Education (PE) time for all public Schools; further adding to the marriage between academics and a healthy lifestyle by virtue of sports.
Meanwhile, Minister Jacobs is expected to continue his ground work as it relates to forging relationships with the various sports associations and federations with the aim of building a stronger, more cohesive sports fraternity across Guyana.
