Kaieteur Sports – Guyana Amazon Warriors pulled off a daring heist as they snuck past the Barbados Royals by 4 wickets in the final over, as the two sides put on a show last evening at the Kensington Oval Ground.
After being reduced to 51-3 at one point, home team Royals did well to reach 165-6 batting first, a true credit to the class of captain Rovman Powell who nailed 6 sixes in his 28-ball 50 at the backend of the innings.

Opener Brandon King hit six fours and a maximum during his 39, while South African Rassie van der Dussen scored a brisk 45 with two fours and a six as part of the Royals restoration job.
Only Warriors left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie (2-16) truly escaped with classy bowling returns, as his team reached 170-6 by the end of the chase.
Dwaine Pretorius played a scorching hand as he hammered 53 from 34 with two sixes and 4 maximums, batting alongside fellow half-centurion Shai Hope who notched up another fifty for the Warriors, a classy 62 not out (5×4 1×6).
Power-hitter Quentin Sampson continues to stake a claim in the XI with his pugnacious knock of 33* with a pair of fours and as many sixes, being the shot in the arm needed for the home sprint.
The duo of Ramond Simmons (2-27) and Eathan Bosch (3-25) bowled tidily for the Royals. (Clifton Ross)
