Marcus Bisram Foundation T20 Cricket Competition bowls off

(Kaieteur News) – The highly anticipated Marcus Bisram Foundation (MBBF) T20 Cricket Competition on Sunday. The competition, which is for teams on the Upper Corentyne and Black Bush Polder areas, has an impressive $50,000 US (approximately $11,600,000) sponsorship intended to propel it.
The MBBF is founded by United State Based Guyanese businessman, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, Marcus Brian Bisram. Bisram is also the President and Chief Executive Officer of the organisation. The MBBF has been performing humanitarian services in different spheres throughout Guyana for a number of years and also through various non- profit organisations.
The cricket competition, deemed one of the largest in terms of sponsorship locally, will see some 22 teams participating.

The tournament will be played on a round robin basis and will be supervised by the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA).
The winning team is set to receive a handy $1M and other amenities including medals and the beautiful MBBF trophy.
The runner-up team will receive $500,000 and other incentives while the teams finishing third and fourth will also receive significant cash and other rewards.
Other lucrative incentives will be presented to outstanding individual players.
Some 11 matches were slated to be played on Sunday and during this week, with the final set for the end of November.
Live broadcast and live streaming will be done by the ever reliable Pixel Perfect Productions Group.
According to Bisram, ‘Prayers move mountains, but service to man through actions changes lives.’
He stated that it is a blessing and a pleasure to serve selflessly. The MBBF continues to join hands and give back to the community. Giving back for a purposeful cause is close to his heart and something he cherishes doing.
The tournament is being used to help promote the development of the game in the area.
Cricket enthusiasts are encouraged to come out and support their favourite teams as they battle for supremacy.
The teams expected to participate are – Crabwood Creek Sports Club, Crabwood Creek Bomb Squad, NO 72 Cut and Load, Crabwood All Family , No 70 Sports Club, Line Path Raptors, Skeldon Community Centre Titans, Scottsburg United, No. 73 Young Warriors, No. 71 Sports Club, No. 70 MYO, No. 69 Vikings, NO 72 All Stars, No. 68 Turn Team , No. 64 Fighting Marines, No. 48 Challengers, No. 43 Scorpions, Yakusari Caribs, Molsen Creek Wolf Warriors, Yakusari Horizon, No 72 Hong Kong, No 69 Red Rose, Grill Master Avengers and Skeldon Jaguars.
