Kaieteur News – As the curtain came down on the We Invest in Nationhood’s (WIN) final rally on Saturday evening, candidate Natasha Singh-Lewis urged supporters to use the tool on the Guyana Election Commission (GECOM) website to find out which polling station they are assigned to cast their votes.
WIN, led by Guyanese businessman Azruddin Mohamed, held its final rally at the Marriott Beach front, Georgetown. Hundreds of supporters outfitted in blue attended.
“Check where you’re voting. Wake up early tomorrow morning, go look for your polling place. Go and look for your polling place. When you find your polling place and you know how far you live from this place you’re going to go and vote there. Help the people in your house, help your neighbours around the street,” she urged supporters.
Singh-Lewis called on supporters to be vigilant and avoid confusion on Election Day.
“I am telling you that this is not the first time GECOM doing it. People turn up in Region Four to vote, and when they go at the polling station, then they find out that, oh, you’re not voting here, you’re voting in another region, a whole different region, folks do your due diligence. Change is going to come, but it will not come with us alone on this stage. It has to come largely by you,” she noted.
Singh-Lewis decried the high cost-of-living faced by citizens and said Guyana needs a change, one she said, can only come if electors turn out on Monday to vote.
Though launched in June 2025, Singh-Lewis reminded other parties in the 2025 presidential race that “WIN is a new party, not a small party.” She also urged electors to be guarded with their votes.
Singh-Lewis echoed earlier comments from the party’s presidential candidate, urging supporters not to go out and party Sunday night, but instead, ‘go to bed early, wake early and vote early on Monday morning’.
WIN is promising a range of increases, including public assistance from $22,000 to $50,000; support for individuals living with HIV and cancer from $14,000 to $30,000; the old-age pension from $41,000 to $100,000; and the school cash grant to $100,000. The party also plans to raise the income tax threshold from $130,000 to $200,000 per month, reduce PAYE (pay as you earn) from 25% to 20%, grant public servants scaled salary increases of up to 50%, and work with the private sector to increase the minimum wage.
