Kaieteur News – People always quick fuh talk how de Pee Pee Pee does fetch crowd when dem keep meeting pon de coastland. Dem seh is bus from Berbice, minibus from Essequibo, and even one-two donkey cart from Mahaica rolling in. Some man seh, “Look, de whole rally crowd living in Georgetown, dem just drive round and round.”
Well, dem boys seh, that argument might hold lil water pon de coast. But explain to dem boys how yuh gun fetch supporters from Georgetown to Lethem? Yuh renting jumbo jet? Yuh booking convoy through de savannah? Or yuh gun mek dem supporters ride bull cart fuh three days steady?
On Sunday, Lethem crowd didn’t just big—it massive. De whole place look like Rodeo Day and Town Day join up. People come out wid flag, wid whistle, wid drum. Dem boys seh, if you did try fuh fetch coastland crowd, dem woulda still be struggling halfway at Annai when de rally done.
So wah dat tell you? Pee Pee Pee ain’t just got transport; dem got organizing muscle. Yuh can’t fake a Lethem crowd. Yuh can’t import it. De people deh right deh, and dem turn out. Lock, stock, and barrel. Like cowboys turning up fuh cattle branding.
Now, dem boys know plenty people gon seh, “Crowd don’t mean vote.” True-true. But crowd does mean something: it mean energy, it mean base, it mean people willing fuh leave dem hammock and come clap. And in Region Nine, that ain’t no small thing.
Dem boys seh, yuh could play down one or two rallies pon de coast, but yuh can’t deny Lethem. If that crowd was any sign, then Pee Pee Pee done rope in de hinterland like cowboy lasso cattle. Question now is, who bold enough fuh ride in and tek it back?
