GuySuCo Treating Employees’ Wages/Salaries bunching Issue with Urgency

The Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) wishes to assure its employees and the public at large that it is fully engaged in addressing the issue of wages/salaries’ bunching. The matter has also engaged the attention of the respective Trade Unions representing the employees as it is a “general question,” which is of interest to employees across the industry and not specific to a single Estate.
In this regard, GuySuCo and the Unions will commence formal negotiations in the new week, with a meeting with the Guyana Agricultural and Workers Union (GAWU) set for August 14, 2025. Management met with the employees of Albion Estate who were on strike on August 5 and 6, 2025 and they were assured that the issue will be resolved. Both GuySuCo and the Unions remain committed to resolving the matter swiftly, recognizing that our workers are valued partners and central to the continued success of the sugar industry.
