Bids open to construct fence & drains at New Amsterdam Prison
Kaieteur News – Twenty contractors have submitted bids to construct a fence and drains at the New Amsterdam Prison in Region Six.
This was revealed at the recent opening of bids at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) office. No engineer’s estimate was listed.
Bids ranged from $184 million to $479 million to execute the project.
Even as bids are being evaluated for the construction of a fence and drains at the prison, reconstruction works on a $1.7 billion New Amsterdam prison are ongoing. That project began in 2023 and was divided into seven lots.
