Royals sweep Ravens to win One Guyana Premier League Title
…Colts Edge Pacesetters in OT to Claim Third Place

The One Guyana Premier Basketball League championship trophy is heading to Linden, after the Victory Valley Royals completed a 2–0 series sweep of Ravens in the best-of-three finals.
Following a narrow 74–70 win in Game One, Royals sealed the title with a 78–71 victory in Game Two on Sunday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Harold Adams led all scorers with a game-high 31 points, while Orlan Glasgow chipped in with 17, helping the Royals clinch the championship and the league’s $1 million first-place prize.
Nikkoloi Smith paced the Ravens with 25 points, and veteran guard Ryan Stephney added 18 in the losing effort.
The Royals set the tone early, closing the first quarter with a 20–15 lead.
Adams was dominant in the first half, as Linden’s finest outscored the Ravens 22–13 in the second quarter, heading into halftime with a 42–28 advantage.
The third quarter saw a Ravens resurgence, sparked by Smith, who ignited their offense. Ravens outscored the Royals 28–15 in the period, cutting the deficit to just one point (57–56) entering the final quarter.
The fourth quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle. With under a minute remaining, Ravens pulled within one (72–71) after back-to-back buckets from Smith.
But just when it looked like the Ravens could force a Game Three, sharpshooter Kobe Tappin, cold for most of the night, stepped up and buried a clutch three-pointer to push the Royals ahead 75–71.
Vibert Benjamin then went to the line and calmly sank both free throws, and Tappin followed by hitting one of two from the stripe, sealing the 78–71 win for the Royals.
In the battle for third place, the Colts outlasted their longtime rivals, the Pacesetters, 88–82 in overtime.
The hard-fought contest saw both teams trading buckets down the stretch, but it was the Colts who held their nerve in the extra period.
