Kaieteur Sports – The stage is set for the ultimate Under-14 football showdown as the Petra Organisation crowns its champions in the Sixth Annual ExxonMobil Boys’ and Girls’ Schools Football Tournament today at the Ministry of Education Ground.
Over the past four weeks, football fans have been treated to some of the most entertaining and competitive U14 action in recent years. From the first whistle to the roar of the crowd, the tournament has showcased the best of youth football, and now the country’s top teams are ready to battle for supremacy on the grandest stage.
The journey to the finals has been electrifying. The Boys’ final, Chase’s Academic versus Three Mile Secondary. Chase’s Academic, the defending champions, are determined to retain their title when they face Three Mile Secondary from Bartica at 17:00 hours.
Led by captain Nyron Barrow and featuring standout talents such as Jashan Haynes, Fabio Kowlessar, and Trevon Glasgow, Chase’s has been the most dominant side in the tournament. However, Three Mile, anchored by the dynamic trio of Simeon Martindale, Aaron King and Joshua James, has impressed with its resolute, army-like defense and will be eager to upset the champions. With nothing to lose, Three Mile enters the final hungry for glory, setting up what promises to be a gripping encounter.
On the girls’ side, Bartica Secondary takes on tournament debutants Chase’s Academic Girls in what is expected to be another thriller.
Both teams are unbeaten, but Bartica has been ruthless, dominating every opponent with clinical attacking football. Chase’s, known for its rich tradition in schools football, has assembled an impressive female squad, boasting a consistent frontline and disciplined defending. Their tactical approach and spirited performances over the past weeks suggest they will be a formidable challenge for Bartica in the title match.
