Mocha woman shot dead by motorcycle bandits
Kaieteur News- A 51-year-old clothes vender was reportedly shot dead on Thursday afternoon reportedly by two bandits on a motorcycle at her clothes stall in Mocha, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
The dead woman was identified as Desiree Jacobs of Mocha Village and was reportedly killed moments after her husband, Mark Hyman dropped off a Vita Malt for her.

“I give it to her and she ask me if I going home at present, I tell she no, I going and finish off me job”, Hamon said.
When Hamon arrived back at work he received a call that his wife was just shot.

He returned immediately only to find that she was dead.
“I cannot believe it”, he added while recounting that he saw several persons around her stall when he got there
“I went in and I discover she lying (on ground)”, he recounted.
Hyman said he heard that she was killed by two bandits on a motorcycle.
“Most I hear is some people went in she place…”, he said.
Hyman claimed that an eyewitness trailed the suspected bandits in a direction towards South Ruimvedlt and noted that one of them had on a helmet while the other was masked.
He has heard nothing else since.
Hyman described his wife was a hard worker.
“Everybody in Mocha could come and get anything here from she them might not have the full money but she always willing to help them”, Hyman told news reporters.
Meanwhile, her distraught sister, Karen, said her sister “didn’t deserve to die the way she did”.
Kaieteur News understands that she was killed while trying to fight them off.
Investigations are ongoing.
