Kaieteur News – Dem boys seh Opposition parties behaving like Black Friday shoppers outside Courts. Yuh woulda swear dem lining up fuh flat screen TV or free groceries. But no—dem lining up outside de Umana Yana, fighting fuh de prestigious honour of being first or second to submit dem List of Candidates. Wah madness!
Last week some party pitch tent like dem heading to de bush fuh gold mining. Camp stove, water cooler, mattress, even mosquito net! One man even bring he grandmother fuh moral support. Dem boys seh he party ain’t ready fuh govern if dem can’t even take turns like decent schoolchildren.
It remind dem boys of de days when people used to line up fuh everything. Line fuh cooking oil, cooking gas and if you was real lucky, line fuh Dunlop boots. Dem seh people used to see a line and join it just so—then ask, “Wah deh selling?” Now look who in de line again—de same set who had everybody lining up back in de day!
Dem boys want ask: if yuh List strong, wah it matter if yuh submit it first or last? Is not like GECOM giving prize fuh punctuality. Is not Olympics, man! But no—dem treating it like a sprint final, and everybody want pole position.
One party man even seh, “We had to get here early to show we serious.” Serious? Dem boys seh serious people write policy and go knock on doors—not camp out like dem by de seawall waiting fuh fireworks.
And leh we tell y’all: this line-up drama entertaining . If dem can’t agree on who going first to hand in paper, how dem gon run a whole country?
So Dem Boys seh, instead of fighting fuh first in line, fight fuh first in ideas, first in integrity, and first in solutions. Not first fuh who pitch tent in a democracy like is a camping competition!
Dem boys seh it best: de only list people really care ’bout is de grocery list.
