Handsome Tree airstrip, a worthy initiative

Kaieteur News – It made surprising but pleasant reading, the opening of the airstrip by a private company in Handsome Tree, Mahaica Creek. This worthy project, in the making for quite some time, was a well-kept secret, as I do not recall hearing or reading about plans to establish an airstrip in that locale. The Company, ASL, must be congratulated and commended for the foresight and initiative as it places this community on the map, so to speak. It is hoped this would be replicated in other communities across the country and companies would seize the opportunities available.
