ExxonMobil Guyana GSL to blend Cricket and Soca
Kaieteur Sports – Cricket fans, get ready to party! the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL) is serving up action both on and off the pitch, in a spectacular fusion of sport and Soca.
In a dynamic collaboration with Hits and Jams Entertainment, the GSL is transforming every Guyana Amazon Warriors home match at the Guyana National Stadium into a cricket-meets-carnival spectacle.
Each game will now feature a halftime Super Concert, headlined by some of the Caribbean’s biggest Soca and Chutney stars, promising fans non-stop entertainment from the toss to the final ball.
The action kicks off under the lights on Thursday, July 10, when the hometown Warriors face defending champions Rangpur Riders.
But the energy doesn’t dip at the innings break, instead, it explodes with the electrifying Patrice Roberts, who will set Providence alight with her signature anthems and infectious stage presence.
The following night (Friday, July 11) brings more Caribbean heat as Nadia Batson, the undisputed queen of vibes, takes over the stage during the Warriors’ clash with New Zealand’s Central Stags.
On Sunday, July 13, fans will be treated to a vibrant blend of Soca and chutney as Trinidadian superstar Ravi B performs during the much-anticipated showdown between the Warriors and Dubai Capitals.
The mid-week magic continues on Wednesday, July 16, with a fiery encounter against Australian franchise Hobart Hurricanes XI, and halftime will belong to rising Soca sensation Mical Teja, who promises to ignite the crowd with his chart-topping hit Runaway.
Then, all roads lead to the GSL Finals on Friday, July 18, where the cricket stakes will be sky-high — and the vibes will reach boiling point. Soca powerhouse Nailah Blackman will bring the curtain down on the concert series with a headline performance guaranteed to shake the foundations of Providence.
