…as trio slips over to APNU without informing their party
Kaieteur News- The Alliance For Change (AFC) in a statement on Wednesday said that it has cancelled the membership of Juretha Fernandes, Sherod Duncan, and Deonarine (Ricky) Ramsaroop after independently verifying that they joined A Partnership for National Unity (APNU).
“The AFC General Secretary has written to each of the former members seeking clarification and they have failed to respond”, the AFC said before adding, “However, independently, the Party has been able to verify that the three – Duncan, Fernandes and Ramsaroop have officially subscribed to membership of the APNU”.
Guided by its constitution, the AFC added, it has chosen to expel them out of the party.
The action taken by AFC came after media reports surfaced that Juretha Fernandes has been named a Prime Ministerial Candidate in APNU’s list of candidates for the upcoming September 1, Regional and General Elections.
Other party members, Sherod Ducan and Ramsaroop were also named in APNU’s list.
