Kaieteur News- Guyana full of stubborn people. Yuh see dem every day. Once dem seh something, not even lightning or common sense could change dem mind. Dem would hold on to a wrong idea like is dem grandmother will.
One man seh COVID was a hoax. He end up in the ICU gasping fuh breath but still whispering, “Is just a lil flu.” Another one seh the earth flat—until he book a flight to China and end up in Miami by accident. He still seh the pilot tek the long way.
Is like some people believe being wrong gon mek dem disappear. Dem rather eat crow with ketchup than admit, “Me mess up.” Is like dem does rather walk barefoot pon broken bottle than seh, “You was right.”
And don’t talk politics. Once dem pick a side, that side could thief, lie, bruk road in cemetery, and still dem gon defend it like is dem wedding vows. “At least he building school,” dem gon seh, even if the school got no teacher and de children learning pon chalkboard from 1985.
Some people committed to de foolishness. Dem does twist facts, invent new ones, or just shout louder when dem wrong. One lady seh rain does fall because de government building too much road. When the sun shine, she seh is climate change.
And when dem dig in, dem does dig in so deep dat dem does can’t dig themselves out. So don’t expect dem fuh come forward and say dem was wrong. Dat will not happen because how dem gan excuse what dem bin do to others with their false narratives and accusations.
But hear dis: It nah kill nobody to seh, “I was wrong.” It does actually mek you look like you got sense. Or at least, more sense than de man who still waiting fuh Burnham to come back.
Dem boys seh, better you admit yuh wrong than keep living in a fantasy. Only donkey stubborn fuh stubborn sake. And Guyana got too much people braying already.
Talk half. Leff half.
