– Norton says party “not worried”
Kaieteur News- Executive Member of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) and Region 4’s Chairman, Daniel Seeram, has thrown his support behind the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) government for a second term.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday afternoon, Seeram wrote, “After fruitful discussions and careful considerations on matters of National and Regional development, I am pleased to endorse President Irfaan Ali and Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo for a second term to lead the Cooperative Republic of Guyana”.
Seeram’s choice to support the PPP/C administration comes days after President Ali announced September 1 as the date for Guyana’s 2025 General and Regional Elections.
In response to Seeram ‘jumping ship’, PNCR and Opposition Leader, Aubrey Norton, said his party is “not worried” by the move.
“I am more interested in our committed people who are with us,” Norton said while assuring that Seeram’s choice and his current post as Region 4 Chairman will in no way undermine the PNCR.
“Our party base is strong; the people in the party knew what was happening. They won’t be affected, they will just do our political work,” Norton told Kaieteur News.
Asked if he knows of anyone else who might be ‘jumping ship’ like Seeram, Norton said he cannot foresee that happening, but if it doe,s then the core supporters of the PNCR will not be bothered.
