(Kaieteur News) – The body of an elderly man was discovered on Monday afternoon, face down behind a stall at the intersection of Shell Road and Alexander Street, Kitty, Georgetown.
The deceased has been identified only as Gregory, commonly known in the area as “Buck Man,” of Kitty, Georgetown.
According to an eyewitness, the body was discovered around 16:00hrs lying motionless behind the stall. The matter was subsequently reported, and ranks of the Guyana Police Force responded to the scene.
Residents who are familiar with Gregory said he was believed to be over 65 years old and known as a daily drinker. They recalled seeing him earlier in the morning consuming alcohol, prior to the discovery of his body.
His body was later removed from the scene by the police, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing.
