May 13, 2025 Letters
Dear Editor
Two recent published pieces caught my attention:
The first was a letter under the caption “If Ramson continues to promote ‘Stink and Dutty’ expect more ‘Baby Skellos’ ” (SN May 12). Very well said and so true.
The letter writer must be commended, like others, for calling out this type of entertainment.
The Ministry must review its support for entertainment which devalues societal norms, which it is perceived, has found its way in the religious realm.
This must be condemned.
The second piece by columnist titled “,The limits of foreign sleuths” (KN May 12) is well written, fact based piece on the involvement of foreign investigators in local crimes and criminalities. The GPF is our only legal authority to investigate crimes and while outside assistance might be required from time to time, the Force cannot be sidelined. The piece offers a different perspective, and while the clamour is loud, would reason intervene for a moment to listen and interpret what the columnist says. It is doubtful, since it does not fit into the narrative.
Two thought provoking pieces for us to ponder.
Regards
Shamshun Mohamed
