Man sentenced to life in prison for 2017 murder
Kaieteur News- Forty-four-year-old Michael London was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday for the 2017 murder of his wife, Shenika Elliot-London, at their Central Amelia’s Ward Squatting Area, Linden, Region 10 home.

London was sentenced by High Court Judge, Justice Simone Morris-Ramlall.
On May 19, 2017, London, a pork-knocker, brutally stabbed his wife multiple times with a knife in their bedroom, in the presence of one of her daughters. The mother of five collapsed outside a neighbour’s house and died at the Mackenzie Hospital.
He fled the scene but was shot in the left leg hours later during a confrontation with police in a forested area at Moblissa, Soesdyke/Linden.
A post-mortem examination said Elliot-London died from “multiple incise wounds”.
Michael London was sentenced to life in prison
On May 22, 2017, Kaieteur News reported that London made his first court appearance before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Wales Magistrates’ Court where he was remanded to prison.
The accused had claimed his wife’s infidelity led to him killing her. However, the victim’s relatives alleged that she was the victim of constant physical abuse.
