Dear Editor,
Several innocent children were victims of an acid attack. Those who are instigating racial division and attacking the young and innocent to do so are nothing but cowards. They must face the full force of the law. CRG stands with the President in condemning those who seek conflict, division and destruction. Leave the children alone and have the courage to face those with whom you disagree. Anger is no excuse for lawlessness, violence and wickedness. Most Guyanese want a peaceful resolution to our current concerns and a peaceful election year. Using the anger of the people to instigate racial violence is not a path to victory. It is a path to rejection at the polls, conflict and division.
CRG calls for a peaceful resolution to our differences. The President must also take immediate action to remove those responsible for the weakness of the GPF and our crime-fighting system. His government must regain control of the streets, and safety on the roads must be restored. If a curfew is necessary, then one must be put in place. No one should be supporting racial hatred and racial attacks of any kind. Those who do must be held accountable. There is no place for violence this election year.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jamil Changlee
