…man shot and killed wife, her mother and sister
…critically injured brother
…killer battling for life after drinking poison
Kaieteur News- A tragic act of domestic violence unfolded on Wednesday night in Waiakabra, along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway, leaving a mother and her two daughters dead and her son critically injured.
The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Maline LaCruz, her mother Waveney LaCruz, and her sister Sueann LaCruz. Maline’s brother, Seon LaCruz, survived the attack but is currently hospitalised in critical condition after sustaining gunshot wounds.
The suspect in the triple murder is said to be Maline’s husband, Ramzan Ramdial, a goldsmith. He reportedly consumed a poisonous substance and, up to press time, was in a critical condition at the hospital.
Kaieteur News understands that he allegedly opened fire on the four victims at their residence before fleeing the scene.
In a heartbreaking twist, Maline had publicly spoken out about her abusive relationship just three months prior. In a Facebook post shared in January, she wrote, “6yrs 7 months living with this individual and this is what l have to face even tho I ran for my life he keeps coming after me. He keeps abusing me mentally emotionally physically and verbally. At this point this is my last option to get help and to get out of this abusive relationship and to get my children away from him.”
The woman had attached CCTV footage to show the abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband. The investigation is ongoing and more details will be provided in a subsequent report.
