Kaieteur Sports- Torrential showers on Tuesday forced the reshuffling of dates for a few of its ongoing competitions across the city, with action set to resume in the near future with one eye on the weather.
Following the end of a number of GCB inter-county junior tournaments, both male and female, the highly-anticipated start to the 2025 U19 inter-county was officially postponed yesterday ahead of the opening round.
The GCB confirmed that the U19 will bowl off eventually but as for now, the weather has forced an indefinite start to the first round.
As for the ongoing MCYS/GCB One Guyana National Super 50 Knockout Tournament, Thursday’s upcoming double-header semis was also called off due to the persistent rain.
Upon resumption of action in the Demerara leg, Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) and longtime rivals Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) will lock up in the first semi-final battle.
Game two will see East Bank Eagles tackling Transport A, with winners going on to book spots in the final for the county.
