2025 GCB U15 inter-county finals
-Henry, Latiff, Ramzan among tournament MVP’s
Kaieteur Sports- Berbice were crowned champs of the 2025 Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Under-15 Inter- County, after defeating a spirited Demerara team during Friday’s final at the LBI Ground.
In a match where rain intervened slightly, Demerara’s score of 166-7 from 45 overs failed to prevent a loss as the Berbicians romped to 173-7 inside 42 overs.
Brandon Henry led Demerara’s batting with a defiant 34 not out, finding help from Lomar Seecharran (31), In-form Shahid Ramzan (30) and Khush Seegobin (26).

Berbice hoisted the 2025 GCB U15 inter-county title after a tremendous showing in this year’s competition.
Led by Richard Ramdeholl (2-37), Man-of-the-match Arif Bacchus (1-16) and Rafael McKenzie (1-30), Berbice did well to contain a talented Demerara batting side.
Bacchus timed the chase with 33 while Arif Marimutoo hit 32, along with Nathaniel Ramsammy (29) and Ramdeholl who returned to score a vital 25, which saw them to victory and the title.
Despite good returns from Akeem Persaud (2-11) , Reyaz Latif (2-31) and Makai Dowlin (1-8), the young Demerara side failed to keep their opponents from capturing the chip.
Following the end of tournament, awards for the Most runs went to a few of Guyana’s top youth players and future stars, including but not limited to Demerara’s skipper Henry who finished with 92 runs. He was followed by his teammate, Ramzan who racked up 91 runs.
Ancient County batsman Bacchus ended with 89 runs followed closely by Essequibian Justin Dowlin (87 runs).
In the Most wickets category, Latiff of Demerara bagged a tournament total of 9 wickets, tying with Joshua Thomas of Berbice who also copped 9 scalps with another Ancient County player Ramdeholl occupying the 3rd spot with 8 wickets.
Meanwhile, the tournament will serve as a measuring stick for the National Junior Selection Panel, who will be tasked with drafting and putting together the best possible squad ahead of the 2025 CWI Rising Stars Regional U15 Championships which bowls off in April.
(All-round Berbice clinch title by 3 wickets)
