Dear Editor
The Private Sector Commission (PSC) expresses its profound concern and disappointment regarding a recent incident at a Business Conference organised by the Suriname-Guyana Chamber of Commerce in Suriname, chaired by our fellow Guyanese, Mr. Vishnu Doerga. During the conference, a map was presented by a Surinamese speaker that inaccurately portrayed the New River Triangle area of Guyana as part of Suriname, and no objections were raised by the Guyanese attendees.
The PSC wishes to condemn and disassociate itself from this significant lapse in national responsibility by those Guyanese present. We, therefore, call on Mr. Doerga, under whose leadership the event was conducted, to issue an apology to the Government and people of Guyana for permitting this offensive incident to occur without raising any objection or taking appropriate action.
Regards
Private Sector Commission
