Kaieteur News – On Tuesday, two vendors were placed on $20,000 bail each after they were charged with assaulting each other on Longden Street, Georgetown.
The two vendors, Susie Rogers and Cheryl Fraser who reportedly ply their trade on Longden Street made their first court appearance before Chief Magistrate (AG) Sherdel Isaacs- Marcus where the charge was read to them.
It is alleged that on March 22, 2024 at Longden Street Rogers, a 35-year-old vendor of Timehri North and a mother of six assaulted Fraser to cause her actual bodily harm.
Rogers pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Fraser was charged with unlawfully assaulting Rogers on the same day and at the same location. She also pleaded not guilty.
Both vendors were granted $20,000 bail and instructed by Magistrate Isaacs-Marcus to maintain peace until the next hearing scheduled for June 28, 2024, or face two weeks imprisonment.
