I am writing to express my concern about the seemingly inconsistent application of zoning regulations for service vehicles registered with “B” plates. It has come to my attention that while smaller service providers, myself included, are routinely stopped and questioned by the police regarding zoning violations, larger service providers, particularly those associated with the oil and gas industry, appear to be exempted from such scrutiny.

This inconsistency raises concerns about fairness and equal treatment under the law. It is unclear if there is an official exemption granted to larger service providers to have buses registered in “B” and not be zoned with an official number and assigned route, or if their non-compliance with zoning regulations is simply being overlooked.

I kindly request clarification on this matter. Specifically, I would like to know:

Is there an official exemption granted to specific categories of service providers regarding zoning regulations?
If no exemption exists, why are larger service providers not being held accountable for adhering to the same zoning rules as smaller providers?

I believe that ensuring consistent and fair enforcement of traffic regulations is crucial for maintaining order and safety on our roads. I urge you to investigate this matter and address the apparent disparity in the application of zoning regulations.
