Calls for boycotting Israel is antisemitism at work

Recently, there have been a plethora of letters to the local newspapers calling for a boycott of Israel, and the cutting of diplomatic ties with the Jewish state. Among other things, they said that Israel has overreacted to an attack on its citizens and have disproportionately attacked the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. First, there is no proportionality in war. The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941 and killed two thousand Americans. The U.S then entered the Second World War and fought Japan for several years, culminating with two atomic bombs being dropped that killed and maimed nearly half a million people.
What is disturbing about the current denouncers of Israel, is that when Arabs or Muslims are killed by their own – these people are silent. Disturbingly silent. A country to Israel’s north has bombed and killed nearly half million of its own Muslim citizens. Israel’s other Arab neighbors have routinely killed many of their fellow Muslim citizens, and none of the people who are calling for the boycott of Israel had anything to say about these atrocities. Just last week, a Muslim country in South Asia expelled more than one million fellow Muslims to its western neighbor, and everyone is silent on this injustice. If India had done this, it would have been called “ethnic cleansing. “It can, therefore, be concluded that the only time Muslim lives matter to these people…is when Israel fights for its survival, and Palestinians are killed. This is the textbook definition of antisemitism!
