Dear Editor,
My grandson told me that he has been reading about a well-known fugitive from Guyana, who has been very prominent in the news lately. He said that members of parliament and political activists, have been writing about this person, as if there was a sacrosanct ambience about him.
My grandson asked me if this was okay. I told him that it was not okay, for two reasons. First, by indulging and fraternizing with this wanted man, they are really disrespecting our law enforcement. And secondly, they are saying that no matter how many heinous or gruesome acts this person may have committed ….it is fine with us.
Finally, I told my grandson that if these people had truly loved their country, they would have done the only thing that needed to be done. They should have done their patriotic duty, and performed a citizen arrest.
Respectfully,
Herbert Allen
