Kaieteur Sports – Big Man Cricket2@ O40s T25 tournament continued Saturday with 3 matches at Farm and Enmore. Only 2 matches remain to conclude the round robin stage of this exciting tournament. Four teams from the East zone have already qualified for the playoffs – Jai Hind Jaguars, Enterprise Star Sports, GT Royals and Legend Rangers. The 4 teams from the West Zone that have qualified are: Essequibo Masters, Everest Masters, West bank Warriors and Regal.
ROUND 7- SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th, 2023
At the Enmore ground- Match 1-Everest Masters earned a walkover from Independence SC.
At the Farm ground- Match 2– Regal overpowered Canal # 1 Scorpions by 8 wickets. Taking first strike, the Scorpions flattered to deceive and were bowled out for 74 in 17.2 overs. There were 2 wickets apiece for Ravin Singh, Fraser and Patrick Rooplall. Regal knocked off the required runs in 7 overs with Man of the match Andrew Lyght top scoring with 29.
At the Farm ground – Match 3: BMC-1 champions, West Bank Warriors decimated East Bank Titans to power their way into the playoffs in the 2nd match of the double header. Batting first, the Warriors posted a formidable 267 for 5 off their allotted 25 overs. All of the Warriors batsmen had starts. Anthony Ifill top scored with 67, S. Ramgobin 42, D. Persaud 41, C. Ramcharran 28 and R. Tashier 28. In reply the Titans were bundled out for 126 with only Rohan Sarjoo with 43 and K. De Jonge 28 offering any resistance to incisive bowling by the Warriors. Man of the Match Safraz Baksh ripped through the top & middle order of the East Bank Titans with 5 for 21. Abid Haniff had 2 for 33.
