Man struck and killed by lightning at Swan Village
Kaieteur News – A 29-year-old man was on Sunday struck and killed by lightning at Swan Village, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
Dead is 29-year-old Shawn Eastman of Swan Village.
Police believe that incident occurred during the afternoon hours while Eastman was at a creek not too far from his home.
Eastman’s common-law-wife found him dead in the creek that afternoon after she returned home from an errand. The woman went to the creek to wash clothes and discovered Eastman’s body floating with burn marks.
There was a lightning and thunderstorm that afternoon in the area and police suspect that his injuries could be from the lightning.
Investigations are ongoing.
