Kaieteur Sports – Horseracing fans had their appetites whet at the just concluded Breeders Cup meet and now their sights are fixed on the Guyana Cup on the 13th of next month at the Rising Sun Turf Club. The Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee (JJTRC) had a chance to test their systems after promising a much improved Guyana Cup from last time.
Head of the organising team, Nasrudeen Mohamed Jnr, has already been at work for the big event and hit the ground running announcing ahead of one of the largest events in Guyana, that the Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee met with Senior Police Officers of the Region 5 District to mitigate the incessant traffic emanating from the annual Guyana Cup Horse Racing event.

Guyanese horseracing fans had their taste whet with the Breeders Cup, now attention is set on the big event, the Guyana Cup.
Due to the massive attendance in 2022 their where thousands of patrons and commuters who were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for hours while trying to reach the venue or simply pass the festivities. After careful examination of the shortcomings for 2022 the JJTRC has collaborated with the Guyana Police Force to initiate a five-step plan to eliminate the traffic problem in the best possible way.
The Traffic Management Plan:
Gates are expected to be opened at 8am sharp to ensure all patrons get first preference on seating and parking. Immediately after the featured race, the “The Guyana Cup” the attention will be placed on the international stage set-up by popular sound company Travelers Sound System. A huge international cast is expected to be launched on Friday 7th July, 2023 to step the momentum us a notch. The organizers have been working feverishly to ensure promotion for the entire month reaches 70 percent of Guyana where persons can win tickets on the Guyana Cup Road Show or on the Sea Wall every day leading up to the event.
