Dear Editor,
The Opposition reaffirms its total confidence in the stewardship of Mayor Pandit Ubraj Narine as he fights on behalf of the vendors on New Market Street who are eking out a living in this era of high cost of living. We, therefore, find the call by the Private Sector Commission (PSC) for the Mayor to resign as political hogwash. The PPP cronies in the PSC were obviously handed the statement by their handlers at Freedom House to release.
The PSC has once again failed its obligation to represent the interest of businesses whether large or small, or whether on the pavements or in buildings. It has become a political stooge, and Guyanese are correct in ignoring its public utterances.
The Opposition hails those vendors who continue to resist the destruction by the PPP of their livelihood. They can continue to look forward to our support as they seek to earn an honest living.
Regards,
APNU+AFC
