Dear Editor,
Part of the issue with our society is the palpable duplicity that permeates the hearts of men.
October 6, 1976, when Cubana Airways Flight CU-455 was blown out of the sky, killing 73 innocent people, including 11 of Guyana’s brightest, must be remembered right alongside September 11, 2001. The people who were killed on October 6, 1976, were just as human as those who lost their lives on 9/11. The evil acts of 9/11 are no different from those carried out on 10/6. Here is the duplicity, the same people who cry over September 11, created October 6.
We must stand against the crime of international terrorism, whenever and wherever it occurs, and regardless of who does or sponsors it. Injustice is born in the womb of hypocrisy. Evil is evil, regardless of who does it.
With kind regards,
Remington Nelson
