Keep Your 5 Alive Futsal Championships…
– BV, Swag Entertainment among quarterfinalists
Jamal Cozier netted a double hand Future Stars a 2-1 win over Poor People Defence when the 8th annual ‘Keep Your Five Alive’ Futsal Championship continued Saturday night at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Calvin Shepherd put Poor People Defence ahead in the 6th minute before Cozier found the back of the net in the 21st and 22nd minutes to hand his team victory.
Beterverwagting (BV) beat Tiger Bay 4-3. Nevon Barrow handed BV the lead in the 2nd minute before Ian Dooker stretched their advantage in the 6th, 8th and 21st minutes. James Meredith slotted home for Tiger Bay in the 20th while Alpha Fletchman added two more in 21st and 22nd minutes.
Swag Entertainment defeated Albouystown Warriors 3-1. Koci Gentle opened the scoring for Swag Entertainment in the 22nd before Jerimiah Softleigh drew Albouystown Warriors leveled one minute later.
Omar Brewley handed Swag Entertainment the lead once again in the 24th while Rene Allicock slotted home in the 26th.
Slingerz FC thumped Family 5-2. Delon Lanferman put Slingerz ahead in the opening minute before Family drew level via an own goal in the 6th minute. Quincy Adams slotted home in the 7th and Deon Alfred scored one minute later and got his second in the 27th. Adams netted his second in the 28th. Amos Ramsay scored for Family in the 26th.
Stabroek Ballers beat Bent Street 3-0 with goals from Seon Taylor in the 3rd and 6th and Dorwin George in the 17th.
East Front Road overcame Gold is Money 2-0. Tevin Campbell scored in the 4th and Meshach Barratt in the 22nd minute.
Back Circle beat Vengy 3-0. Stephon McLean scotted home in the 6th and 20th while Cecil Jackman scored in the13th minute.
Sparta Boss trounced Pike Street Sophia 5-0. Eusi Phillips put his team ahead in the 2nd minute while Nicholas MacArthur netted a hat-trick as he found the back of the net in the 8th, 17th and 20th minutes.
Gregory Richardson scored in the 13th.
The quarterfinals and semi finals will be contested on Saturday. The quarterfinals fixture reads; Furture Stars vs Swag Entertaining, Slingerz vs BV, Back Circle vs Stabroek Ballers and Sparta vs East Front Road.
