Kaieteur News – Police suspect that there is no foul play involved in the death of a 60-year-old man whose remains were found on Friday lying face up inside his home at Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
The dead man, who has been identified as Royston Lam, was discovered around 17:45hrs by his cousin.
Police visited the scene around 18:10hrs and conducted the necessary investigations.
The man’s cousin told the investigators that he had decided to pay him a visit on Friday. When the cousin arrived, he called out for Lam several times but got no answer.
He then became suspicious that something was amiss after he was hit with a foul stench emanating from Lam’s house.
The relative called police and Lam’s body was discovered.
Investigators said that they saw no marks of violence on his body neither was his house ransacked, leading them to believe that no foul play was involved in his death.
They also learnt that he suffered from high blood pressure.
The body was removed and taken to Merriman’s Funeral home where it awaits a post mortem examination to confirm police’s suspicions.
