Dear Editor
Kaieteur News – With reference to the mistreatment of Guyanese working offshore on ExxonMobil floating vessel (KN 1/30/22), Guyanese workers need to be informed and understand that the American working system is different from the British which is what Guyana has continued with after gaining independence from England.
For example: if a person was hired to received X amount of dollars for working X number of hours, it doesn’t matter if you work as a cleaner or doing laundry, you get paid the amount you were hired to get. If any worker has a grievance, they should take it up with the company that hired them -in this case Newrest Guyana.
Respectfully
Gloria Holder
