Kaieteur News – Following the news that plunged the Guyanese Boxing fraternity into disbelief with the passing of former National Boxer Lalta ‘Coolie Bully’ Narine, who had recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic, only to succumb to the underlying condition of Malaria, the former boxer will be laid to rest today. Narine was just 52 years old.
In a tribute to Narine appearing in this newspaper from his daughter Melissa, she noted that, “We lost Bodo to gastro intestinal hemorrhage and ulcer with underlying conditions of malaria.
He was a lover of people. If you knew Bodo, he was definitely a light in your life. Despite what it cost him, physically, emotionally or financially, he made everyone happy and consistently did that throughout his life. He had the biggest heart and his kindness was unmatched.
The best brother, the best father, the best son, the best uncle, but most of all the best husband.”
Always known to be selfless, Lalta impacted the boxing fraternity and the lives of many in various ways.
His funeral will be held today, Tuesday, Sept 28, 2021 at his farm located on the Soesdyke Linden Highway. Persons desirous of paying final respects to Narine can call 695-1356 for directions.
