PPP/C not practicing democracy, but lip service
Dear Editor,
Democracy is not just about winning elections. It is also about how you govern. Key tenets of democracy are accountability, transparency and good governance. These tenets are not just about how a government feel they are doing; it is about how citizens feel a government is doing. While the PPP/C Government has been democratically elected, I personally feel that democracy is not being practiced but rather being paid lip service to. What needs to change is that the PPP/C needs to be a more democratic political party. These are grassroot changes that need to take place before we can expect the PPP/C to practice democracy at a national level.
